The Švrakava waterfall is located on the border between the municipalities of Čelinac and Banja Luka, in the town of Bastasi in the Republic of Srpska. The easiest way to get to the waterfall is the road that leads along the right bank of Vrbas, from the village of Karanovac, which is 11 kilometers south of Banja Luka. About two kilometers from the bridge in Karanovac, in the direction of Kneževo, you need to turn left towards the village of Bastasi. After climbing the pass, the macadam road turns right into the Švrakava valley. The Švrakava River is the right tributary of the Vrbas. The mouth of this river is located in the village of Karanovac, at the exit of Vrbas from the Tijesno canyon. Švrakava, although not too long, is an interesting river, characterized by its canyon and waterfalls. Švrakava canyon, about 500 meters long, ends with several waterfalls and a waterfall. Over a rock block, about 4-5 meters high, the water falls into a deep limestone pot. The tourist offer of the city of Banja Luka offers the possibility of organizing canyoning on Švrakava. This tour can last from one to two hours, depending on the amount of water in the canyon and at the waterfall itself. In addition, numerous hikers and nature lovers come on one-day trips to this locality.
